AI Generated Voice-Overs are Here

We've discovered a new app that can analyze your voice and then allow you to type up a script for the AI voice (YOUR voice) to read.

As mentioned on our recent episode of The Social Media Files, we don't know if there's a way to stop someone from stealing your voice to say whatever you wanted it to, but after the video aired, I hopped on over to the "Descript" platform to give it a try.

There is a small disclaimer that says you "shouldn't" use anyone else's voice but yours, but I was able to add in one of our client's videos to see what it would do. The first thing that I noticed was that it was creating a transcript.

Now if you have ever struggled with transcripts, you might like this tool, but for our team, this portion is rather redundant. It would be great if we could add in our own SRT to use.

The next thing I noticed was this was intended to replace mistakes or blunders in your existing videos, I have yet to see how to create a whole new audio track to use (which we could add to video of our own). The Descript tool also has other editing tools to dive into, but we already have a system in place and it would take considerable effort to re-learn this new platform, so hopefully by the end of Summer we'll have a better review of the program.
